Morgan McKay is sultry and soulful country with a down to earth southern mentality. With sounds of Stevie Nicks rolled into a country tune, fans refer to her as the “150 watt voice”. Morgan McKay is a natural on stage and a must-see performer.
Morgan’s first charted radio single, “Whiskey” peaked at #55 on the Texas Regional Radio Chart in 2019. Her first radio tour produced high energy and excitement in writing and prepping for the next release with music that will reach out and grab you. “Live Once” is the the current radio single off the album, “The Dawn”, remastered and released in February 2020.
Morgan McKay’s music career began at the age of 10 when she first performed at the Wharton Country Youth Fair & Exposition Talent Contest and continued on with various public contests. Morgan soon joined the Texas Opry Network and tour the Texas Oprys as a featured artist.
Morgan also has a background in broadway and classical music. In high school, she was elected for perform and compete with the Governor’s Posse Show Choir and won state.
The Danger Zone is Morgan’s band established with the core band member – Eddie Danger, drums. Morgan and Eddie played acoustic shows 4 times a week around the Houston area to build a following. Dale Kirk, bass, joined the band creating a solid three piece. Jim McGuire joined a few years later as lead guitar for the group.
Morgan McKay & The Danger Zone have performed at many venues such as Redneck Country Club, Super Bowl LIVE, Houston Rodeo Wine Gardens, National Anthem for the Houston Texans as well as various music festivals and events. Performances as supporting act includes headliners such as Cory Morrow, Cody Canada, Sundance Head, Steve Helms, Brandon Rhyder, Bart Crow, and many more!Morgan
