There’s only so much for a musician to do in the farming community of Lenorah, Texas. He was surrounded by a mother that constantly sang hymns, a father that blared Led Zeppelin, a Tommy Dorsey record of his grandfathers, and an older brother that introduced him to punk rock. Somewhere in the mix he came across Sam Cooke, and that was the icing on the very diverse cake. Leighton joined his first band when he was 13 years old, and has been performing ever since. Two bands later, and after years of shuffling around from Midland, to Lubbock, a few months of living in a purple minivan, Leighton found his home in Dallas. He quickly became acquainted with his now producer, Jason Burt, and is getting ready to release a debut single in November, as well as an EP in the spring of 2018.
