Born and raised in West Texas, Wes found his love for country music at an early age. After high school Wes joined the United States Marine Corps. When his stint in the service ended Wes came home to Lubbock to pursue his first love… Music!

Wes attended the highly respected commercial music program at South Plains College where such stars as Leanne Womack, Natalie Mains of the Dixie Chicks, Heath Wright of Ricochet, and many more great musicians honed their craft. After college Wes formed the early version of what is now the Wes Nickson Band.
Their debut album “Tired of Waitin’” did well on Texas radio and very well in Europe. Topping no less than 5 Top 20 music charts and the title track landed Wes a top 10 hit in France.

Wes and the boys have run the Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico dance hall circuit with great success. In 2016 the band had to take a short break due to Wes going on a 3 month tour playing backup acoustic for another Texas artist, Cody Johnson.

With the release of the new EP, “Good and Ready”, the Wes Nickson Band is excited to hit the road again to promote the album. They are fantastically talented and hungry to share their music with the world.
