Dallas based artist Blue Apollo, began recording music during his time at Southern Methodist University’s Meadows School of the Arts. He makes soulful, lyrically rich pop music that blends a host of influences into a timeless sound for right now. Whether on the acoustic stage or with a fully electrified band, his songs carry an authenticity that translates regardless of the trappings.
Blue Apollo wrote his first songs while growing up between San Diego, San Francisco, and Austin. After a few more years of school, he set out to bring his polished sound to stages across Dallas. Early shows met with great success as a fan base quickly formed on SMU’s campus and within the local scene. His first EP, “Light-Footed Hours,” came out in April 2016 and included the single: “Walls.” The success of the first record and early shows, opened doors to bigger shows including opening for Nelly at the Moody Coliseum, American Aquarium at Trees Dallas, Lawrence at Gas Monkey, and Cherub at Rhodes College (Memphis, TN). The EP was also added to rotation at 67 different CMJ radio stations across the country.
Blue Apollo’s most recent EP, “When You Ask for Rain,” was produced by Chris Grainger in Nashville, TN and released September 6th 2018. To celebrate, he headlined a show in the Cambridge Room at House of Blues Dallas. Now back in the studio, Blue Apollo is exploring new soundscapes and pushing his limits with plans to release new music in 2019. Follow @blueapollomusic and see it come together.
