Who would have guessed a pandemic would bring these two souls together? Angie J. Emerson, a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter from Dickinson, Texas, was on her own path hosting open mics for several years, engineering sound, gigging as a soloist, collaborating in duo projects, and writing music. Cosmic as it might seem, Eric A. Lambert, a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Houston, Texas, stumbled upon one of Angie’s open mics and he continued coming to support her for several months. Angie noticed he had quite a collection of original material and an interesting folk style she had yet to tap into herself. Eric, being a seasoned writer, was in a few groups himself in the past, but never had he teamed up with a musician like Angie. While Angie and Eric are both talented musicians, when writing and performing together, they are truly greater than the sum of their parts, creating a unique yet familiar sound through their heartfelt lyrics and timeless harmonies. As months rolled on, and gigs began to populate the calendar, Angie and Eric found it necessary to give their duo a name: AJEAL – a simple combination of their initials.
