About Abbi Walker:

Abbi Walker is a fresh, edgy, country and southern rock artist with the talent and personality as big her home state. Raised in South Texas as a Preacher’s kid, Abbi was heavily influenced by gospel music, Southern culture, and Texas grit. An independent artist and songwriter, Abbi is as confident, funny, and as sassy as they come. Taught to sing by her grandmother on an old upright piano at the age of just 3, Abbi fell in love with the art of music and songwriting immediately. “I learned early on that being a songwriter was an incredibly important part of being an authentic artist. The ability to say well what you want to say, the way you want to say it is extremely important to me as an artist and as a person. It just does not go well if someone tries to speak on my behalf or tell me who I should be. I am the same way with my music. Go on and sit down there, Sparky. I can speak my mind.”

In the last 2 years, Abbi released her first record The Kiss Kiss Bang Bang EP in May of 2013, was a top 12 finalist for Nashville’s American Country Star, a Texaco Country Showdown winner in the biggest market in the local division of Texas, and has sent two singles to Texas Country Radio – both of which have broken the top 30. Her second single, Southern Soul is still climbing at radio now, and her first single Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, spent almost 6 months in the top 100 on the Texas Regional Radio Report. Both songs made the top 200 songs for 2014 according to TRRR.

In addition to radio success, Abbi has been landing huge gigs like opening for Jack Ingram, Charlie Daniels, Jason Boland. Texas Music Pickers chose Abbi Walker as one of the “Bands To Watch Out For in 2015”, and her year is off to quite the start! In early 2015 she will play the San Antonio Rodeo’s Bud Light Stage after Keith Urban’s arena show, as well as the infamous “Hideout” at the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo after Miranda Lambert. She is the only female act booked to headline The Hideout this year. She can hold her own on any stage, and is working hard to make a name for herself!

“Abbi is everything you want in a female country singer. Easy on the eyes and a total sassy sweetheart, her catchy songs will have you toe tapping and and wanting to sing along, and her vocals will knock you on the floor.” The Texas Crawfish Festival

With both heavy southern and Texan influences, Abbi’s music has deep roots, but a fresh, unique sound. Although her musical influences are diverse, you can hear shades of a feisty Miranda Lambert, the deep soulful sounds of Gospel and the South, the swing and punch of old school Southern Rock, but most of all, the independent, confident attitude that is Texas grit. It’s familiar, but fresh.

Every artist is only as good as their live show, and Abbi’s live show is unlike any other females out there today. No sets of slow, sappy love songs of this lady. Her show is filled with rocking, soulful original songs, engaging covers, and a band that will make you grin!

Abbi raised over $20,000 through crowd-funding in December of 2014 to start work on her next record, FEISTY. She is the studio now recording a 12 song, full length record, due out in late Spring of 2015.

Abbi Walker is a force to be reckoned with, and she is ready to take country music by storm, even as an independent. Abbi is building a name for herself in the country music scene, one show at a time. Lookout chart-reigning country boys, there’s a Texas woman on the loose, and she’s coming for you.
