About Aaron Stephens

Born in Chicago, raised near the border in McAllen, Texas, Aaron Stephens creates soulful music that crosses Funk, Folk, Jazz and Blues boundaries.

Following the success of his debut album Hard Times, Straight Lines, which led him to stages nationwide and entrenched him in notable Texas venues such as Antone’s, Continental Club, and Gruene Hall, he set out to craft a follow-up record taking his sound to new heights.
His sophomore release Focus not only meets, but exceeds all expectations. Backed by his four-piece band and brimming with easygoing grooves, Focus highlights Stephens’ uncanny songwriting chops, rhythmic guitar playing and soulful voice.
