Nautical Nation, brainchild of front man James "Jake" Asbury, is an Alternative band from deep
in the heart of the Texas hill country. James grew up singing and performing at his family's
music venue, The Lazy Days Canteen. His first years of playing music were in his father's band
"The River Rats” fueling his fire and love for music early on. Over the next 10 years James had
the privilege of sharpening his skills while being groomed by seasoned performers.  Over his 5-
year career as an original artist he has shared the stage with many renowned artists including,
Grammy Award winners, Los Lobos, Grupo Fantasma, Los Super Seven, Augie Meyers, and
Grammy Lifetime Achievement winner, Flaco Jimenez. As well as, Monte Montgomery (Guitar
Player Magazine's 50 Greatest Players of All-Time), Eric Gales, Savoy Brown, Del Castillo, and
Joe King Carasco etc…
In 2017 James Keith finished up work on his debut album, "Dreamboat", recorded Hidden
Creek Studio in Mountain Home and Orb Studios in Austin.  James Keith's music is described as
eclectic. His voice has a rawness and charming freshness that lures you in. Spring of 2018 James
Keith signed on with Artist Developer Matt Noveskey, owner of Orb Studio and bassist for Blue
October and release an EP, Golden Seas, in September of this year, following a month-long tour
in Europe.

Leigh Kettle – Shuffle Online Show Review

“From deep in the heart of Hill Country, Nautical Nation surpasses all definitions of genres.
Though alternative at the core, this eclectic band incorporates elements of all styles of music,
from rock to reggae, funk to pop, indie to Americana. Full of raw and vast talent, the band
delivered a memorable set full of jams of all varieties. In fact, the array was so wonderfully
transformable that we sometimes wondered how one band could possibly craft such versatile, yet

cohesive tunes.
