About The Sisterhood Band:

Alyssa Bonagura and Ruby Stewart were each born under a full moon, raised on the road, and now they are finding a singular voice as The Sisterhood Band.

After touring internationally with Steven Tyler in 2018 and opening recent dates for Jessie James Decker, The Sisterhood Band just released new music for their growing fan base–a two-pack highlighting their otherworldly harmonies and undeniable gifts as songwriters and in the studio as producers. Released May 10 on Arista Nashville, the two-pack includes “Bullet,” a song about not just getting out of a bad situation, but getting out in time and intact, and “Get Up And Go,” an urgent and spirited appeal to live in the now.

Bonagura’s parents, Kathie Baillie and Michael Bonagura, fronted RCA country band Baillie and the Boys in the late 1980s and early ‘90s and Stewart is the offspring of supermodel Kelly Emberg and rock icon Rod Stewart.

Raised on the road with an obsessive passion for music and the mavericks who create it, Stewart and Bonagura found kindred spirits in each other and their shared devotion to folk legend Joni Mitchell.

Abandoning solo careers, they bonded as songwriters and created a distinct, compelling sound as The Sisterhood Band. In June 2018, just in time for their Steven Tyler tour, the duo released debut music: Summer Setlist, anacoustic7-song collection of reflective and authentic songs about life and living it beyond rules and expectations. The Summer Set list featured poetic, crystalline harmonies that

are tethered by rock-inspired guitar work and adhesive percussion. Produced by Stewart and Bonagura, who studied sound technology at the Paul McCartney Institute for Performing Arts in Liverpool, the seven-song stack is rich in imagery with themes running deep. Bonagura and Stewart wrote every cut and collaborated with an outstanding group of writers including John Fields, Cary Barlowe, Rebecca Lovell, and Morgan Evans.

The results showcase an artistic vision that is a satisfying blend of candor and self-reflection sprinkled with moon dust. It draws heavily from their collective experience and feels empowering for a generation poised to change the conversation on women’s issues–young women who are craving open doors and a voice to tell their truth without feeling overly fragile in the process. The collection is a reflection of their acoustic live show, which is musically rich and vocally intricate in a way that allows their lush harmonies to sour.

The duo has amassed several accomplishments the past few years. They wrote and recorded the theme song “Tenderize My Heart” for the “Stewarts & Hamiltons” reality series on E!, performed at Fashion Weeks in Milan and Miami, landed a slot on the main stage at CMC music festival in Australia, opened for Gary Clark Jr. and Sheryl Crow, made guest appearances at Rod Stewart’s Las Vegas show at Caesar’s Palace, opened Sir Rod’s summer and winter stadium tours, headlined their first club tour in the U.K., and made their Grand Ole Opry debut on the eve of the historic solar eclipse in August 2017.

And like the moon’s once-in-a-lifetime journey across the sun, The Sisterhood Band’s path has been ethereal and at times magical
