SMU Family Weekend Brunch

September 30, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

We’re capping this year’s SMU Family Weekend with a special Jam & Toast Brunch and live music by SMU students and grads!

Join us from 10am to 2pm for our great family style brunch and musical performances from these acts:

Alison Nichols – 10am

I want to make country music that everyone can listen to, that everyone can relate to, whether they like country music or not. Country has taken me from writing silly songs in my bedroom in 2nd grade to recording and putting my original songs on Spotify/iTunes, winning The 2016 Southern Methodist University Talent Show with my song “Boots”, and having Pentatonix’s Scott Hoying pick “Boots” for first prize in the 2017 Songsmith Songwriting Shootout. I was born to sing country music and share it with the world, and I hope that my music translates that to y’all. Thanks for visiting my site and for all the support! I can’t wait to share more and more music with y’all in the future!

SMU Belle Tones – 11am

SMU Belle Tones is the premiere all-female a cappella group of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. These sweet and sassy Belles have captured the hearts of many with their original arrangements and pure sound. From T-Swift, to Elvis Presley, to Beyoncé, the Belles will take on any tune and make it their own for you to love!
Southern Gentlemen is an all-male a cappella group that brings infectious energy and harmony into all their performances. They have performed at the groundbreaking ceremony for the George W. Bush Presidential Library, SMU Board of Trustees Dinner, Family Weekend Talent Show, SMU Celebration of Lights, and many other events in the DFW area.
Luke Nassar – 12:00pm
Luke Nassar formed Blue Apollo during his time at Southern Methodist University’s Meadows School of the Arts. The now four-piece band brings together a wide variety of influences from John Mayer to Stevie Wonder, creating new sounds by combining the emotion of a singer-songwriter and the grit of a blues guitarist. With smooth tenor vocals and a grooving rhythm section, the result is somewhere between indie-pop, blues, and soul.
Sloane Fuller – 1pm
